THE IDEA

This project, Porto.arte, began taking shape in 2014 when the owner of the building, one of the oldest merchants of the city, came up with the idea and the will to recover it and decorate it to the taste of the time, with the intention of putting it at the service of those who visit us, eager to know our history and culture.

We seek to preserve the notes of the origin and the skate that only time grants. These notes ended up patent in the configuration of the rooms, doors, handles, garden, etc..

On the other hand, the structural challenge of solving existing issues (some only discovered afterwards) was present, minimizing any demolition and using materials and construction processes supported by the original construction.

Therefore it was considered essential for a rational and comfortable use, to incorporate the features and technologies of contemporary life.

On the nother strand, we also provided for a special attention to what the decoration would relate to, in order to find a fine balance between the necessary contemporary times and the old record.

While this isn’t dwelling of the family to which it belongs, it’s that family that takes care of its conservation and the personal accompaniment of the guests it receives.
